This is thinkertim.com, a brand new site by Tim Gruian (me), and I'm just getting started. I am a robotics engineer who believes that learning by doing is the most effective way to learn engineering. I have many projects planned to document and share with other awesome tinkerers like you on this blog, and I can't wait to start posting on a regular basis.

Just to name a few projects, I am currently working on a cyber deck/ground station specially designed for robotics enthusiasts, based on the new Raspberry Pi 5. I designed and built a laboratory power supply using an ATX PSU with 4 different outputs and a custom transparent case.

In addition, I intend to write about my bachelor's degree thesis, in which I designed and built an autonomous mobile robot that detects metals and stores the GPS location in a database for further analysis of the area by generating a map.

All of my projects are mainly designed to be built in-house with the help of a 3D printer (except for machined parts), so experimenting and building on your own is entirely possible. I'll be sharing tools and valuable information from my personal engineering journey, so stick around.

I am glad you made it all the way here! Things will be up and running here shortly, but you can subscribe in the meantime if you'd like to stay up to date and receive emails when new content is published!
